What Can Be Found Under A LINE-X Bedliner?
When it comes to bedliners you have a lot of choices and there is a choice for everyone out there. For some a drop-in bedliner may be what you have used your entire life and you are content with that. Others have used a piece of carpet to protect their truck’s bed and other still have had a spray-on bedliner installed. Which is the best? At LINE-X of South Central Pennsylvania we of course think it is a spray-on bedliner from LINE-X and today we will give you a reason for that.
Do You Have A Drop-In Bedliner?
We’ve been over the value comparisons before and we think that when all is said and done LINE-X is still superior. But we’re going in a different direction today. For all of you that have a drop-in bedliner or a piece of carpet we want you to take it off and see what your truck’s bed looks like underneath. If you don’t want to do it, we’ll do it for you here.
A drop-in bedliner is just simply a piece of plastic that covers your bedliner. It may look good and it may look like it is protecting your truck’s bed but is it? It is to a degree but it is not offering the complete protection that you want and think that you are getting.
Drop-In Bedliners Are Not Protecting Your Bed
If you were to take the bedliner out you will find damage to your bed. As you drive your drop-in bedliner moves around. It is not tied down or attached to the bed is it? As it moves it can scratch the bed and over time the paint will wear off. As the paint wears off moisture gets in through the seams and corrosion begins to form followed by rust. All of this happens while you are thinking that your drop-in bedliner is protecting your bed.
Debris Too
More than just moisture can get in between the seams. So can dirt and other debris. Think about how easy it is for dirt or sand to get into your clothes when you work with it or visit the beach. That can happen with your drop-in bedliner as well. Not only does this debris trap moisture underneath the drop-in bedliner thereby accelerating rust since it has nowhere to drain but it also can damage the bed as it grinds it down over time.
Larger debris can also get in as well. The seams in a drop-in bedliner can be large enough to swallow up nails, screws, rocks and anything else that you can find while on the job. Just like with dirt and debris when this gets trapped under the bedliner it can and will cause damage, probably at an accelerated rate.
Get A Spray-On Bedliner From LINE-X
You might think that your drop-in bedliner is protecting your bed but it really isn’t. It’s out of sight and therefore out of mind though and what you don’t know can hurt you (or your truck). There is a way to avoid all of this. Get a spray-on bedliner from LINE-X of South Central Pennsylvania. A spray-on bedliner offers complete protection for your bed so no moisture or debris can damage it.
If you have a drop-in bedliner, just use a piece of carpet or even just have no protection for your truck’s bed get a spray-on bedliner. You will not regret it and your truck will thank you.
