Your Krown Warranty
One of the most commonly asked questions that we get at Krown of South Central Pennsylvania is if a vehicle’s Krown application includes a warranty. Yes, it does. For a full explanation of the warranty visit Krown’s Warranty page but we will give a brief overview of it.
Krown’s warranty is separated into one for newer vehicles and one for used vehicles. Either way it is the best warranty on the market and since the product is environmentally friendly it makes Krown a no-brainer when it comes to having it applied to your vehicle.
New Vehicles
New vehicles are considered to be any vehicle purchased less than 6 months prior to its initial Krown application and within 12 months of the vehicles production date. If the vehicle is sold the warranty is transferable to the new owner at no cost to them.
As long as Krown is applied by a certified applicator (Krown of South Central Pennsylvania) on an annual schedule all body panels below the window line, all seams and crevices and all floor and rocker panels are warrantied for the life of the vehicle following the application as long as the customer maintains the annual schedule. If any of them rust through they will be replaced at no charge up to the current cash value of the vehicle as determined by Red Book. Aluminum vehicles are subjected to a maximum of $5,000 over the lifetime of the vehicle.
Some things are excluded from the warranty. Roofs are excluded as is any rusting caused by stones, nicks, scratches, rusting in foam filled areas, front fenders without fender liners, mechanical parts, peeling and blistering paint along seams, crevices and body panels that are not perforated are not covered.
Used Vehicles
A used vehicle is considered to be one that is purchased less than 24 months before an application of Krown and within 3 years of the vehicle’s manufacture date. The warranty for a used vehicle is the same except it also comes with 60 months of coverage with unlimited mileage subject to the shop’s approval.
What Else Should Customers Know?
Customers are required to keep and maintain all records of Krown applications and any rust repair covered by warranty must be done at a facility chosen by Krown. Should a vehicle be involved in an accident the damaged section must be re-treated with Krown (which will be at no charge to the customer) within 30 days following the completion of repairs.
Krown has the option to cancel any warranty depending on the extent of the damage and/or the quality of repair. The warranty will also be canceled if missing paint is not replaced and resprayed with Krown within 6 months.
